At Move Move Beyond Blackburn, our physiotherapy team works alongside you to understand what matters most — whether that's returning to a sport you love, managing persistent pain, recovering from surgery, or simply moving through your day with more confidence and ease.
Our clinic is located at Shop 1/10 Main Street, Blackburn, a short walk from Blackburn train station on the Lilydale and Belgrave lines. We see clients from across the eastern suburbs including Box Hill, Vermont, Forest Hill, Nunawading, Donvale, Doncaster, Burwood and Mont Albert.
Blackburn is a suburb with an active community — from families with school-aged children involved in local sport to runners and cyclists who make use of the trails around Blackburn Lake Sanctuary, and an established population managing long-term musculoskeletal conditions. Our physiotherapy team iis experienced in supporting all of these groups with personalised, goal-focused care.
We take an evidence-based approach to every assessment and treatment plan. Your physiotherapist will take time to understand your full health picture before recommending a course of care that fits your life, your schedule, and your goals.
We’re not just treating symptoms—we’re focused on long-term outcomes that empower you to get back to doing what you love.

Your initial appointment runs for 60 minutes and includes a thorough medical and physical assessment, hands-on treatment, and the development of a personalised management plan. You will be given clear guidance on what to expect across your care journey and what you can do between sessions.
Almost all clients will benefit from a 30-minute follow-up appointment to review progress, refine the diagnosis, and adjust the management plan as needed. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows your physiotherapist to assess the relevant area.

Physiotherapy is a registered health profession that involves the assessment, diagnosis and management of a broad range of musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiorespiratory conditions. At our Blackburn clinic, our physiotherapists most commonly see clients with back and neck pain, sporting injuries, tendinopathies, joint conditions, pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation needs, and pregnancy-related musculoskeletal concerns.
This varies considerably depending on the nature of your presentation, your health history, your goals, and how you respond to treatment. Your physiotherapist will discuss a realistic timeframe with you at your initial appointment. Simple acute injuries may resolve across a small number of sessions, while longer-standing or complex conditions often require a more sustained treatment program.
Physiotherapists are trained to assess and manage chronic and persistent pain. Chronic pain is complex and often involves a range of contributing factors beyond the physical. Your physiotherapist will take a comprehensive approach that considers your full experience and develops a management plan that addresses both physical function and the broader context of your pain.
Physiotherapy can be appropriate for managing various musculoskeletal changes that occur during pregnancy, including pelvic girdle pain, low back pain, and hip discomfort. Our Blackburn team includes practitioners with an interest in pregnancy-related conditions. Please let us know when booking so we can match you with the most appropriate physiotherapist for your needs.CDM), however this must be in place and initiated by a GP before treatment commences.
You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate for physiotherapy services under an Enhanced Primary Care (Chronic Disease Management) plan. This plan must be put in place by your GP before your appointment commences. Medicare rebates under this program are not available for standard appointments without a plan in place.
Your initial appointment is 45-60 minutes and is used to complete a full assessment, begin treatment, and establish your management plan. Follow-up appointments are typically 30 minutes and are focused on reviewing your progress, progressing your treatment, and refining your program over time.
Please bring any relevant imaging (X-rays, MRI or ultrasound reports), referral letters if applicable, your private health insurance card, and any relevant paperwork such as a WorkCover or TAC claim number. Wear or bring comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows access to the area being assessed.
