With over 12 years experience, Emma is well versed in what it means to be a dietitian in a fast paced, ever changing nutrition world. Emma began her career in clinical dietetics, having worked at both Dandenong hospital and then onto more specialised dietetics in acquired brain injury at Epworth Rehabilitation. A few babies later, Emma took the plunge into private practice in 2019 and hasn’t looked back. The goal underpinning Emma’s practice is to remove any complications around nutrition for her clients. Emma prides herself on providing up-to-date, evidenced based nutrition information that can easily be incorporated into her client’s busy lifestyles.

Emma’s favourite thing about being a dietitian is providing practical, real life advice to her clients. She is a firm believer in the non-diet approach and helping each of her clients set realistic, sustainable goals to not only improve their diet and nutritional intake, but also their lifestyle. Emma knows that often her clients know what to eat, or more importantly what not to eat, and she thrives on helping her clients enact these plans, whilst being ‘human’ at the same time.

With the non-diet approach underpinning her practice, Emma loves focusing on the health behaviours around why we eat what we eat and how we can alter these behaviours to make healthier eating easier and more sustainable. Emma’s dietetic practice focuses on the qualitative factors of nutrition; including components such as intuitive eating & mindful eating, rather than weighing food and counting calories. Emma has helped hundreds of clients with complex medical backgrounds, including, but not limited to heart disease, cancers, diabetes, chronic diseases, ageing, osteoporosis and bone health, disordered eating and bowel conditions.

When not working, Emma is busy chasing her three young children and studying to become a personal trainer. And like many Melbournians, Emma loves a good, strong coffee.
