Golf Strong at Newtown

GolfStrong is a clinician-led golf strength and performance program running out of Move Beyond Newtown. Designed for golfers of all levels — from weekend warriors to competitive players — it combines TPI assessment, VALD performance technology, and golf simulator data with small-group strength training to identify and address exactly what's holding your game back.

In just seven weeks, GolfStrong builds the physical qualities that directly translate to better golf — more power, better movement, and fewer injuries. This isn't a generic fitness class. Every participant is individually assessed before they start, so the training is built around you, your body, and your golf game from day one.

What is involved if you take part in the Golf Strong Program

Your GolfStrong journey starts with a thorough assessment and follows a structured, supported path through to measurable results.

  • Golf Biomechanical Screen - a 60-minute 1:1 assessment with your clinician covering a TPI screen, VALD ForceDecks testing, and a golf simulator baseline

  • Program allocation - you're placed into either a Rehab or Performance pathway based on your results

  • 6-week small-group training - weekly or twice-weekly sessions, max 4 participants per class, across four physical performance pillars plus an exercise individualised to your screen results

  • Week 7 Progress Review — a 30-minute 1:1 re-screen comparing your simulator data, VALD metrics, and TPI results side-by-side with your starting point

  • Complimentary Infrared Sauna session during your de-load week to support recovery

For the most up to date timetable please see our Move Beyond Newtown home page. Our classes are arranged on a Direct Debit program.

FAQs

Do I need a referral to join GolfStrong?

No referral needed. You can self-refer directly — just book in for your Golf Biomechanical Screen to get started.

Do I need to complete the screen before joining a class?

Yes. The Golf Biomechanical Screen is a mandatory first step for all participants. It ensures your training is individualised from day one and that you're placed in the right pathway.

What's the difference between the Rehab and Performance pathways?

The Rehab pathway is designed for golfers managing pain or returning from injury. The Performance pathway focuses on building capacity, power, and distance. Your clinician will recommend the right pathway based on your screen results.

Can I join if a block has already started?

Yes — GolfStrong has open enrolment, meaning you can join at any point during a 6-week block.

How often should I attend?

You can attend once or twice per week. Twice-weekly attendance comes with a discounted per-class rate and pairs well across the Monday/Wednesday or Wednesday/Friday timetable.

What happens after the 7 weeks?

At your Week 7 review, your clinician will present your results and recommend a next step — whether that's re-enrolling in the next GolfStrong block with new programming, or moving into 1:1 clinical sessions to address anything identified in your re-screen.

If I re-enrol in a second block, do I pay for the screen again?

No. The Golf Biomechanical Screen is a one-off entry cost. Returning participants only pay for their classes and Week 7 review.

Who runs the classes?

Classes are led by Dan Iioannidis and Sean Hermann, with Dan also conducting all initial Golf Biomechanical Screens.

How big are the classes?

A maximum of 4 participants per class — keeping it small, focused, and clinician-supervised throughout.

What if my preferred class time is full?

You'll be added to a waitlist and offered the next available time. As demand grows, additional class times may be added.
