Ara Freeman, physiotherapist at Move Beyond Wolli Creek

About Ara

Ara is an Irish musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapist. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy, a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and a Master of Science in Coaching Science in Sport.

Ara has trained at a high level since the age of 16. A sprinter with over 15 years' experience, she has represented Ireland, holds a national title, and has multiple Leinster titles and records. She knows first-hand what it takes to come back from injury (and surgery!) and what is needed from both the patient and the physiotherapist to get back to performance.

Ara loves working with all sports injuries, with a particular interest in foot and ankle problems, sports-related knee injuries, post-operative knee rehab and lower back pain in active people. Her approach focuses on getting the basics right and building her patients back better than they were before. Her Master's in coaching science, which focused heavily on sports psychology and the theory of coaching, shapes how she guides and motivates you through rehab.

Ara has a real passion for movement, and her goal is to empower you through strength (that you may not even know you had) and movement. Since moving to Sydney she has taken up cycling and is hoping to get into track cycling to see where it takes her!
