Infrared Sauna in Newtown

Deep therapeutic heat that works from the core out. Exclusively available at our Newtown location — private, spacious, evidence-backed.

Heat that heals from within

Infrared sauna therapy uses invisible infrared light waves to gently heat your body directly at the core — rather than simply warming the air around you like a traditional sauna. The result? Deep tissue warmth at lower, far more comfortable ambient temperatures. Your body responds as if it were exercising — increased heart rate, improved circulation, and therapeutic sweating — all while you simply sit and recover.Unlike traditional saunas that rely on steam and water to push temperatures up to 80–100°C, infrared saunas typically operate between 45–60°C. This makes sessions more accessible, more comfortable, and often longer-lasting in their therapeutic benefit.

We’re conveniently located in the heart of Pako village Newtown, in a space designed by Adam Kane Architects that redefines the modern healthcare experience.

What Infrared Sauna may help with

Infrared sauna therapy has a growing body of research behind it. Here are the evidence-informed benefits most commonly reported by clients and supported in clinical literature.

  • Pain Relief- Infrared heat penetrates deep into joints and soft tissue, helping to ease chronic pain, muscle soreness, and aching from conditions like arthritis and fibromyalgia.

  • Reduces Inflammation - Regular sessions support the body's natural anti-inflammatory response, helping to reduce systemic inflammation associated with pain, injury, and chronic conditions.

  • Stress Management- The calming warmth of infrared heat promotes the release of endorphins and helps regulate cortisol, leaving you in a deeply relaxed, centred state after each session.

  • Immune System Support - Infrared sauna creates an artificial fever response, which activates immune cells and may help your body fight illness, recover faster, and build stronger immune resilience over time.

  • Better Sleep - The drop in core body temperature following a sauna session signals your brain to enter sleep mode. Many clients report deeper, more restorative sleep after regular infrared sauna use.

Improves Circulation - Infrared heat dilates blood vessels and increases heart rate in a way similar to moderate exercise, improving blood flow, oxygen delivery, and cardiovascular health over time.

  • Muscular Recovery - Athletes and active clients use infrared sauna to speed up post-exercise muscle recovery, reduce DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness), and get back to training faster.

  • Boosts Energy - The endorphin release and circulatory boost from a session can leave you feeling revitalised and energised — a natural, drug-free way to fight fatigue and brain fog.

  • Weight Management - While not a replacement for diet and exercise, the cardiovascular load of an infrared session can support calorie expenditure and metabolic health as part of a broader wellness approach.

FAQs - Infrared Sauna

What exactly is Infrared Sauna Therapy?

Infrared sauna therapy uses infrared light waves to heat your body directly from the core, rather than heating the surrounding air like a traditional sauna. You experience therapeutic heat at lower, more comfortable temperatures — typically 45–60°C — while still achieving deep tissue warmth and a wide range of evidence-based health benefits. The heat penetrates up to 4cm into soft tissue, making it more therapeutically effective per session than surface-level heat

How is infrared different from a traditional sauna?

Traditional saunas heat the air around you using steam and water, reaching temperatures of 80–100°C. Infrared saunas use radiant heat to warm your body directly at lower ambient temperatures — far more comfortable for most people. The lower temperature means you can stay in longer, breathe more easily, and still achieve a deeper therapeutic effect. There is no steam, no humidity, and no water used in our infrared sauna.

How long is a session, and is it private?

Each session runs for 45 minutes. Our sauna cabin is spacious and completely private — the sauna is exclusively yours for your booking. You won't be sharing with anyone else.

What should I bring and wear?

Please bring a towel and a water bottle. We recommend wearing bathers or comfortable underwear. You will experience mild sweating — completely normal and part of the process. Please note we do not have showers on site. Arrive well-hydrated and avoid a heavy meal immediately beforehand.

How often should I use the infrared sauna?

This depends on your goals. Many clients begin with 2–3 sessions per week and adjust based on how their body responds. For muscular recovery and athletic performance, regular post-training sessions work well. For chronic pain or sleep improvement, a consistent weekly schedule often yields the best results.

Can I book infrared sauna alongside other treatments?

Absolutely. Many clients combine infrared sauna sessions with physiotherapy, myotherapy, or exercise physiology appointments at our Newtown clinic to build a comprehensive recovery or wellness plan. Speak with your practitioner about what combination might work best for you.
