Tight muscles, poor posture or long hours sitting may all contribute to lower back pain. Remedial massage targets the deep muscle layers of the lumbar spine and may help relieve tension, reduce referred pain, and restore movement.
Whether from desk work, stress or sleeping awkwardly, neck pain and stiffness are among the most common reasons people seek remedial massage. We work through the neck muscles and surrounding tissue, which may help ease tension and improve range of motion.
Many headaches are tension-related, stemming from tight muscles in the neck, shoulders and base of the skull. Remedial massage may help reduce the frequency and intensity of tension headaches and cervicogenic migraines.
From rotator cuff strains to general shoulder stiffness, our therapists use targeted soft tissue techniques that may help to reduce pain, improve shoulder mobility and support recovery.
Sciatic nerve irritation often causes pain, tingling or numbness that travels from the lower back into the glutes and down the leg. Remedial massage may reduce the muscle compression contributing to sciatic symptoms.
Whether you're recovering from a strain, managing overuse, or preparing for your next event, remedial massage may support faster muscle recovery, reduces DOMS and helps you get back to doing what you love.
Chronic stress holds itself in the body — tight jaw, hunched shoulders, shallow breathing. Remedial massage may help calm the stress response releasing physical tension stored in the muscles.
Hip flexor tightness, glute tension and IT band stiffness are common across desk workers, runners and active adults alike. We address the surrounding soft tissue which may relieve hip pain and restore functional movement.
The plantar fascia runs the length of your foot, and when inflamed, it can make every step painful. Remedial massage to the foot, calf and lower leg may reduce tension on the fascia and support recovery. We recommend this as an adjunt to Podiatry.
Repetitive movements at work or in sport can lead to inflammation and pain in the tendons, forearms, wrists and hands. Our therapists use soft tissue release and targeted techniques to help address tension. We recommend this as an adjunct to Physio, EP or Osteopathy.

No referral is needed to book remedial massage with our Cremorne Mosman team — you can book directly online or by phone. If you're claiming through private health insurance, NDIS, WorkCover, DVA, or TAC, no referral is required to get started either.
Remedial massage is a clinical, targeted treatment used to assess and treat musculoskeletal pain, tension, and dysfunction — not just general relaxation. Our Cremorne Mosman ek remedial massage therapists use techniques such as deep tissue massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, dry needling, and cupping, often working alongside corrective exercise advice. While it can be deeply relaxing, the goal is therapeutic: identifying the cause of your pain or tightness and treating it directly.
Our Cremorne Mosman remedial massage therapists treat a wide range of presentations, including chronic muscle tension, lower back and neck pain, headaches and migraines, postural strain from desk-based work, sporting injuries, delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), repetitive strain injuries, and stress-related tension. If you're not sure whether remedial massage is the right fit for what you're experiencing, our team can help you decide.
Most private health insurance funds with extras cover include remedial massage when performed by a qualified, registered therapist. You can claim on the day using our on-site HICAPS terminal. Your out-of-pocket cost will depend on your fund and level of cover — if you're unsure, check with your fund or ask our Cremorne Mosman team before your appointment.
Remedial massage may be a funded support under the NDIS where it relates to your stated goals, typically under Capacity Building or Core Supports depending on your plan. Funding can be accessed if you are plan-managed or self-managed. Please note, we do not accept agency-managed plans. Speak with your Support Coordinator or our team if you're unsure how this fits your plan.
This depends on what you're managing. For general muscle maintenance and tension relief, many clients find a session every four to six weeks effective. If you're working through a specific injury, chronic pain, or high training loads, your therapist may recommend more frequent sessions initially, tapering off as things improve. Your b therapist will recommend a plan suited to your goals at your first appointment.
Your initial appointment includes a discussion of your goals, relevant medical history, and the areas you'd like addressed, followed by a hands-on assessment and treatment. Your therapist may use a combination of deep tissue work, myofascial release, stretching, and other techniques based on what your body needs. You'll leave with an understanding of what was found and any self-care or follow-up recommendations.
Yes. Remedial massage is widely used to support sports performance and recovery — helping manage delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), reduce the risk of overuse injuries, improve flexibility, and support recovery between training sessions or events. Many of our Cremorne Mosman clients combine remedial massage with physiotherapy or exercise physiology for a complete approach to injury management and performance.
Many remedial massage techniques can be safely adapted for pregnancy to help manage common discomforts such as lower back pain, hip tightness, and general muscular tension. Let your Cremorne Mosman therapist know if you are pregnant when booking so they can tailor positioning and technique appropriately.
Yes. Our Cremorne Mosman remedial massage therapists are trained in a range of techniques including dry needling, cupping, and myofascial release, which may be incorporated into your session where clinically appropriate. We accept private health insurance (HICAPS on-site, claim on the day), NDIS (plan-managed and self-managed), DVA, WorkCover, and TAC. We are a cashless practice — payment via Visa or Mastercard.
