GLAD Program for Osteoarthritis at Newtown

We are thrilled to be offering the GLA:D program at our Newtown clinic with Physiotherapist Nic Sutton. Nic is trained in the GLAD program, which stands for Good Life with osteoArthritis: Denmark, an education and exercise program developed by researchers in Denmark for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms.

The GLA:D program focuses on providing education and exercises that can be easily applied to everyday activities. Participants will develop skills to self-manage their osteoarthritis and become more confident and comfortable with exercise. By strengthening their muscles and improving their confidence with exercise, participants can develop a better capacity to become or stay active, prevent symptom progression, and reduce pain. Check out our blog about this program here.

Watch this short video tour of our clinic to see how our care is centered around your health goals, empowering you throughout your journey.

What is involved if you take part int the GLAD Program

  • Initial 60 min assessment with one of the GLA:D trained Physiotherapists

  • Follow up 30 min private session with the GLA:D trained Physiotherapists

  • 2 x 60 min group exercise classes per week, over a 6-week period (12 in total)

  • 2 free education sessions with our GLA:D trained Physiotherapists

Whilst the GLA:D program is designed to be done over 6 weeks, if you love the class you can continue on or speak with your practitioner about continuing your care through Clinical Pilates or Exercise Physiology at the clinic.
